PEO cost questions
How much does a PEO cost per employee?
Most PEOs charge $40–$160 per employee per month, or 2–12% of payroll, for administration. Justworks publishes $79 for its Basic plan, Remote PEO starts at $99 and Deel PEO is $125.
What's included in the PEO fee?
Payroll, payroll tax filing, HR administration and compliance support. Health premiums, workers' comp and state unemployment tax are usually billed on top, at rates set for your workforce.
Is percent-of-payroll pricing worse than a flat fee?
Not always, but it rises automatically with raises and bonuses. A flat per-employee fee is easier to budget.
Can a PEO save money?
Often on benefits and workers' comp, because the PEO pools many employers. NAPEO cites a 27% return from cost savings alone; your result depends on your current costs.
